On Saturday 16th August 2003 we held Ruby Party 8 at the Midnight Shift. This was in the days of the legendary themed Ruby parties, with a stunning poster by the late Brett Bush, the party had a subtitle of "The Enchanted Forrest" (click on the following link to download a high resolution image of this poster - a testament to the man's genius). http://www.rubydance.com.au/images/rp8_a6_poster.jpg
David Twyman was the themeing designer, and managed to transform the bar at the shift into a Magic Garden. Some people are still finding glitter from the magic carpet in their wardrobes, and we can still hear the cries of anguish from the cleaners (click on the following link for a picture of the "enchanted forest" created by David). http://www.rubydance.com.au/images/Forestslide_smaller.jpg
Damon Hartley was our sound engineer; he delivered stunning sound then, and we are very honoured to have him still working with us, just doing what he does - quietly in the background - actually no, thankfully, noisily in the background - he has well earned our title for him "Mr Golden Ears".
Oracle Laser were delivering laser shows that set new standards (with Paul Mazlin operating), and Oracle are working with us now (with Adam Bold operating). They continue to set new standards and to challenge our very senses with the effects they create.
So, Five years on, we thought we might celebrate this auspicious occasion with another party. It isn't a themed party (we sometimes have to tie Ruby down to stop him from getting carried away), but it will be a fun event - as many of you know, we now focus on the Music, Production and Sound quality for our events.
